Exact time with seconds in Costa Rica and timezones

Costa Rica is officially in the Central Standard Time Zone (UTC-6). This time zone is one hour behind the Eastern Standard Time Zone in the United States during the fall and winter months. During the summer months, Costa Rica matches United States Eastern Daylight Time (UTC-4).

Costa Rica does not observe Daylight Saving Time, so the clocks never move forward or backward one hour.

There is only one other time zone in the country, the Central Time Zone (UTC-7) in the Guanacaste province that is two hours behind the Eastern Standard Time Zone. This change was imposed by a presidential decree in 2016 and is observed from April to November. The rest of the country remains in the Central Standard Time Zone.
