The main time zone used in Cuba is Eastern Standard Time, which is five hours behind Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Some cities, such as Guantánamo, observe a different time zone, known as Cuban Daylight Time (CDT). This time zone is five hours behind UTC during the months of October through March and four hours behind UTC during the months of April through September. Certain Cuban airports, including José Martí International Airport in Havana, also observe the same time zone as EDT. It is important to note that due to the embargo between the United States and Cuba, clocks in Cuba are not adjusted to match daylight savings time as they are in the USA.
