The Czech Republic is located mainly in the Central European Time zone (CET) with its precise UTC offset being +1 hour. During Daylight Saving Time, the offset is UTC+2.
The Czech Republic does not observe Daylight Saving Time. Areas in the Czech Republic are split between two time zones: Central European Time (CET) and Eastern European Time (EET). All of Bohemia, which comprises the capital, Prague, as well as much of the rest of the Czech Republic, has Central European Time. A small part of the Czech Republic, in the northeast is one hour ahead, making it Eastern European Time (EET). The time zone differs most in the winter months, when the eastern parts of the country experience the darkest hours at 10:00 a.m. while the western parts are lit up at 11:00 a.m. The local name for CET is Střední Evropa (Central Europe).
