Faroe Islands follow Western European Time (WET) and Central European Time (CET). The WET zone is two hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC+2). In the summertime, the country follows Western European Summer Time (WEST), which is three hours ahead of UTC (UTC+3).

For daylight saving time, which runs from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October, the Faroe Islands move to UTC+2. This switch back to WET is an hour earlier than some other European countries, such as the United Kingdom, France and Belgium, who shift from WEST to CET.
