There are two main timezones in Ireland, which are Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and Greenwich Mean Time + 1 (GMT+1).

GMT is the standard timezone in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
GMT+1 is the standard timezone in the Republic of Ireland during Daylight Savings Time (DST).

The use of Daylight Savings Time (DST) in Ireland officially began in 2002, when it switched to GMT+1 during the summer months. However, due to popular demand, Ireland continued to use Daylight Savings Time (DST) until September 2019, when it was discontinued.

The current time in Ireland is based on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), which is the same time as in the United Kingdom. When Daylight Savings Time is observed in the Republic of Ireland, then the time in Ireland is GMT+1.
