During the summer, between the last Sunday in March and the last Sunday in October, Malta changes its clocks to Central European Summer Time (CEST), GMT+2. It is one of the few European countries that does not change its clocks twice a year.

Malta is located in the UTC+01:00 time zone, which is the same as its standard time. It is listed by the International Telecommunication Union as one of the official time zones, along with Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Since most of the European Union (EU) follows CET, Malta does not observe DST.
