Serbia lies in the Central European Time Zone. It uses the Central European Standard Time (CET), which is one hour ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC+1). Daylight savings time, known as Central European Summer Time (CEST), is observed from late March to late October. During CEST, the time zone is UTC+2. It does not observe daylight saving time in the winter. There is also an observer status in the Russia Time Zone (UTC+3) which Serbia adopted from 2006 until 2009 due to heavy energy exports to Russia.
