Thailand has only one time zone, which is called Indochina Time (ICT). This time zone is seven hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC+7). Thailand does not have Daylight Saving Time.

The official time is set by the Royal Thai Astronomical Society. They set time signals every day from their radio observatory on Doi Inthanon, the highest mountain in Thailand near Chiang Mai. These time signals, known locally as LORAN-C, are broadcast from the JJY stations in Fukuoka and the JJY Station in Tokyo.

Additionally, the National Information Technology Committee has established the Thai National Time Zone Standard (TZST), which uses other international sources, including GPS, WWVB, and NTP, to set the official time of Thailand.

There is also a separate time zone used in the Thai/Lao border region known as the Western Time Zone (WST). This time zone is two hours behind the rest of Thailand, making it UTC+5. It is used primarily by minority ethnic groups and those in remote areas.
