The Republic of Vanuatu is divided into 11 official time zones. These are:

UTC+09:00
UTC+08:00
UTC+07:00
UTC+06:00
UTC+05:00
UTC+04:00
UTC+03:00
UTC+02:00

Most of the country lies within UTC+11:00 (Vanuatu Standard Time, VUT). This is the time zone for the capital, Port Vila. Parts of the country which lie east of the 167°E line of longitude, including Erromango, fall within 05:00 (Vanuatu Time, VUT). The other nine time zones are mainly uninhabited, or have very few inhabitants.
